Dr. David Switzer’s survey of the shipwrecks would not have been possible without the hard work of John and Ray Demers, who located and uncovered approximately 3½–4 feet of sediment covering the ship’s hull and ribs. Their efforts made the vessel accessible for Switzer’s examination and survey. Their essential contribution should therefore be properly acknowledged and credited as a critical part of the work that enabled the survey to take place.
